If you are looking for special local events this fall, the Town of New Tecumseth invites residents and visitors to take part in a full lineup of fall programs at the Museum on the Boyne in Alliston.
The 2026 fall events lineup includes guided walking tours, an immersive murder mystery evening, family-friendly Halloween activities, a quilt exhibit reception, and a P.A. day program focused on fungi and hands-on learning.
“The Museum on the Boyne is a special place where residents and visitors can connect with our local history in meaningful and memorable ways,” said Mayor Richard Norcross.
“This fall lineup offers something for many ages and interests, from heritage tours and exhibit programming to family activities and seasonal fun. I encourage everyone to explore the events and enjoy what the museum has to offer.”
Featured events include:
• Heritage Home Walking Tour – Oct. 3, 10:30 am. to 11:30 a.m.
Step into Alliston’s rich history during a guided walking tour of heritage homes and historical buildings around Fletcher Crescent and the surrounding area.
• Alliston Union Cemetery Tour – Oct. 10, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Join the Museum on the Boyne for a respectful guided walking tour exploring stories, monument artistry, symbols, and local history throughout Alliston Union Cemetery.
• Murder Mystery Night Out – Oct. 24, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Step into an immersive murder mystery experience filled with twists, turns, and chilling surprises. Participants will work together to crack the case, uncover clues, and identify the culprit. A pizza dinner is included.
• Boo Bash – Oct 28, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Families are invited to enjoy Halloween fun at the Museum on the Boyne with Halloween crafts, pumpkin painting, a scavenger hunt, and trick-or-treating around the museum.
• Quilt Exhibit Reception – Nov. 19, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Join the Museum on the Boyne for the opening of the Quilt Exhibit. The evening includes local textile history, exhibit tours, brief remarks, refreshments, and a children’s interactive area.
• P.A. Day: Fall Fungi – Nov. 20, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Kids ages 7 to 12 are invited to a morning of hands-on learning about mushrooms and the forest’s hidden heroes. Activities include multimedia crafts, felt mushrooms, and spore printing.
