Sheldon Creek Dairy hosted its Annual Easter Egg Hunt & Farm Tour on Saturday, April 16, in Loretto.
The “egg”citing event included an Easter craft, milk, Easter treats, and farm tours of the barn to meet the cows, and drew 300 participants.
Now in its fourth year, with a break due to COVID–19 pandemic restrictions last year, Sheldon Creek family farmer Marianne Edward says the Easter Egg Hunt is a great way to celebrate spring, get into the field and get up close with the cows.
“It’s a great education to see a farm in action,” Marianne told The Times.
Sheldon Creek Dairy Farm produces milk, yogurt, kefir, butter, ghee, and frozen yogurt.
“Our farm store is also a great spot to find over 800 Ontario-made products in one location!” said Marianne, confirming Sheldon Creek Dairy products can also be found across Central Ontario at Foodland, Sobey’s, Vince’s Market, and farm markets.
The Times asked Marianne what other events will take place at the Farm in 2022, and she confirmed monthly farm tour dates throughout the upcoming summer and fall.
“It’s also our tenth birthday, so we might have to do something for that in the fall!” she said.
Sheldon Creek Dairy is located at 4300 Concession Road 5, in Loretto and is open Monday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information visit them online at www.sheldoncreekdairy.ca.
