Friends, family and local residents are encouraged to come out for the sixth annual Keanan’s Family Walk on Sunday, April 1 from 9:30 a.m. until noon at the Adjala–Tosorontio Municipal Office walking track.
Gathering at 7855 30th Sideroad, Alliston (5 minutes outside of Alliston at the corner of the 30th Sideroad and County Rd 50) participants are reminded that there is no minimum required amount of laps to participate.
Following the Walk, there will be a social inside the municipal office. Donations are welcomed but not required to participate.
All donations raised that day will go towards purchasing healthy snacks for children who attend the Early ON Child and Family Centre in Alliston.
Included in this year’s Silent Auction is a signed Connor McDavid Team Canada jersey courtesy of Canadian Tire.
In addition to the Silent Auction, there will be a raffle draw for prizes such as gift baskets from Beattie’s Distillery and Wellington Brewery.
There will be coffee compliments of McDonald’s Alliston as well as refreshments courtesy of Beeton Foodland.
“After understanding how many children benefit from eating healthy snacks at the Early ON Child and Family Centre, our goal this year is to provide enough resources for the Centre to purchase groceries for an entire year,” said Keanan’s father, Kevin.
Keanan’s Family Walk commemorates Keanan Allin Boston, a 21-month old local boy who passed away in 2013 who would have turned six years old on April 1.
The Walk is aimed for families to come together and spend some time outside.
Since the inaugural event, Keanan’s Family Walk has grown from 30 participants to over 170 last year.

Guests who would like to help are asked to bring baked goods to the Walk.
