The County of Simcoe Economic Development Office, in collaboration with area partners, will be hosting the 2023 Workforce Connect Conference at Tangle Creek Golf Club.

The Workforce Connect Conference is designed to bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and human resource professionals across several sectors, including manufacturing, tourism, agriculture, and technology. The conference is designed to help share knowledge, advice, and best practices.

The event will include keynote speakers and roundtable discussions.

Topics to be discussed include building, attracting and retaining the workforce; creating workplace cultures that attract and retain talent; keys to future-proofing your talent strategy; and the challenges and innovative solutions to help with the labour shortage.

“Building up our local businesses is key to the County’s future,” said Simcoe County Warden Basil Clarke. “Events like the Workforce Connect Conference help businesess to learn from one another as well as regional experts, so that they can succeed, grow, and support our workforce.”

There will be two events – one in person and one online.

“Simcoe Muskoka Workforce Development Board and Literacy Network is thrilled to support the 2023 Workforce Connect Conference, a platform that brings together local industry leaders to address the challenges and opportunities in our region,” said Kelly McKenna, executive director, Simcoe-Muskoka Workforce Development Board & Literacy Network. “This conference will play a crucial role in fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and shaping innovative solutions for building resilient workforces and attracting and retaining top talent. We invite all employers and stakeholders to join us for this one-of-a- kind event as we work together to strengthen our workforce and drive economic growth in Simcoe Muskoka.”

The in-person event will take place on Wednesday, June 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at Tangle Creek Golf Club.

The online event will take place on Thursday, June 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
