The County of Simcoe is seeking residents who are willing to serve on a committee or board as citizen appointees.

There are positions available on two committees and one board within the county.

The Accessibility Advisory Committee, which provides input on accessibility plans for consideration by County Council and advises on accessibility issues with municipal buildings, has positions available. The committee also looks at opportunities concerning the identification and removal of barriers while providing advice on ways to improve opportunities for people with disabilities in the community.

The Planning Advisory Committee also has available positions, and provides unified comments to staff on Simcoe County’s Official Plan and County-initiated Official Plan Amendments. It reviews land use policy changes that may be introduced by the Province of Ontario as well.

The Lake Simcoe Regional Airport Board is a Municipal Service Corporation that manages the strategic and day-day requirements of the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport and has positions available for volunteers.

All appointments are a four-year term commencing in 2023. Meetings are generally held during regular business hours, and are likely to be held in person, but may be held virtually. Citizen appointees will be compensated in accordance with approved County policy.

All applicants must reside within the County of Simcoe.

All interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter outlining their experience and preferred committee or board, as well as their relevant qualifications to the County Clerk before 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022.
