Simcoe County will host the Municipal Agriculture Economic Development and Planning Forum in Collingwood.
This annual event, held in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Rural Affairs, will bring together municipal planners, economic developers, producers, and growers to explore the evolving landscape of agriculture in Simcoe County and beyond.
The Municipal Agriculture Economic Development and Planning Forum aims to showcase the diversity and quality of Simcoe County’s agricultural sector through a guided farm and agribusiness tour, along with insightful conversations.
It provides a collaborative platform for economic developers, planners, producers, and growers to gather to address sector challenges and identify opportunities, as well as share best practices and lessons learned.
Through focused discussions on rural economic development, policy-making, and workforce attraction, the forum promotes innovative approaches to agriculture-based planning and encourages sustainable growth and investment in the region.
Day one of the forum will include a farm tour and networking reception. Attendees will embark on a full-day bus tour of local farms and agri-food businesses.
Day two of the forum will feature a conference and workshops. This is a full day of engaging speakers, interactive workshops, and panel discussions focused on rural economic development and planning strategies.
The Municipal Agriculture Economic Development and Planning Forum will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 22, and Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at the Georgian Bay Hotel, located at 10 Vacation Inn Dr., Collingwood.
