Beginning on May 3, the County of Simcoe is extending operating hours at local waste facilities to support residents and business during COVID-19.
All sites except Mara and Matchedash will move to six-days-a-week service.
Residents are asked to follow all public health recommendations. This includes asking people who are in self isolation to stay at home and not make the trip to the waste facility.
You should only make necessary trips to waste facility sites and adhere to physical distancing rules when interacting with staff and other site users.
Traffic volumes will be monitored to ensure physical distancing. This may lead to longer wait times during peak periods.
Significant safety measures are in place to protect staff and customers and visitors are asked to be responsible and do their part to keep frontline landfill workers safe.
The full schedule can be viewed at www.simcoe.ca/covid19.
As of May 3, all waste facilities will increase operating hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Collingwood, West Gwillimbury and Tosorontio waste facilities will also be open on Mondays providing six-day service through to Saturday.
North Simcoe, Nottawasaga and Oro Waste Facilities will also be open from Monday to Saturday.
Mara Waste Facility will continue to operate Thursday through Saturday.
Matchedash Waste Facility continues to operate at pre-COVID levels on Sunday and Monday schedules.
