An COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s medical/surgical unit.
The announcement was made in collaboration with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
The Overflow Unit at the hospital still remains in outbreak status as announced earlier in the week.
All COVID-19 positive patients are isolated and have been place in the Overflow Unit to create a “positive zone.”
The Medical/Surgical Unit is a negative zone and is able to accept admissions at the current time.
All close contacts have been notified and enhanced cleaning has been implemented along with additional infection prevention and control methods.
This includes additional COVID-19 testing.
Both the Over Flow and Medical/Surgical in-patient units are closed to visitors unless a designated/essential care partner has been determined as required or a patient is palliative.
You can call the Patient Experience Department at: 705-435-3377 ext. 2310, if you have any questions or concerns.
