The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation has announced a donation of $33,641 from the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

This donation will enhance patient care at SMH by purchasing an Innowave Ultra+ Sonic Irrigator – a cutting-edge device designed to improve the cleaning and sterilization of medical instruments.

The Innowave Ulta+ Sonice Irrigator, known for its advanced ultrasonic cleaning technology, provides superior instrument decontamination by delivering high-frequency sound waves combined with powerful irrigation. This ensures that even the most intricate surgical tools are thoroughly cleaned, preventing infection and improving patient safety during medical procedures.

“We are thankful to the SMH Auxiliary and community which help fund important equipment needs, year after year,” said Barbara Steed, interim president and CEO of SMH. “The Innowave Ultra+ Sonic Irrigator is a crucial addition to our hospital, allowing us to continue meeting the highest standards of cleanliness and care. The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary continues to inspire through its fundraising initiates, showcasing how community-driven efforts can transform healthcare delivery.”

Through the Auxiliary’s efforts, funded through initiatives like Tag Days and Annual Raffle sales, the Auxiliary has contributed over $1.1 million since the Auxiliary’s founding in 1928.

“We’re proud to help provide this essential equipment for Stevenson Memorial Hospital,” said Carla Beckett, president of the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. “The community’s support of our fundraising efforts has made this possible, and we’re incredibly thankful for everyone’s contributions.”

Frank Cerisano, CEO of SMHF, added, “We are so grateful for the ongoing dedication of the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Their hard work and commitment ensure that our hospital remains at the forefront of patient care, and this donation is another example of their impact in supporting quality healthcare in our region.
