Due to demand from the public and increased transmission of COVID-19 in the community, Stevenson Memorial Hospital is extending operation of its COVID-19, Cold & Flu Clinic.
The hospital is partnering with community physicians to keep the clinic open.
The Clinic will be available for anyone who is experiencing mild to moderate or worsening symptoms of COVID-19 or flu who would like to receive in-person care.
“We’ve seen higher volumes of individuals and families through the Clinic in the past two weeks and want to make sure we are offering as much support as we can to those who need it,” said Dr. Matthew Myatt, Chief of Emergency at SMH. “This additional operation day will provide more access to care for the community and will also continue to help offset some of the pressure our emergency department is experiencing in the hospital.”
COVID-19 testing will continue to take place separately at the COVID-19 Assessment Centre.
Hours of operation for the COVID-10 Assessment Centre are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The COVID-19, Cold & Flu Clinic will be open three days a week, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Appointments are required to access the Clinic. The Clinic is located in the lower parking lot of the hospital.
Upon arrival, patients are asked to remain in their vehicle and call the Clinic to inform staff of their arrival.
For safety, staff will inform the patient when they can enter.
To book an appointment, call 249-501-0383.
