Son of a Bull comedy tour coming to Loretto

Comedian Eric Johnston is bringing his Son of a Bull Comedy Tour to the Loretto Restaurant Country Bar as part of his Ontario tour.

Johnston just sold out the Jackson Triggs Amphitheatre in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The comedy series was inspired by his best-selling book, Run with the Bull: Three Generations of Sports and Entertainment, which discusses Johnston’s upbringing as the son and grandson of Canadian professional wrestlers who went by Dan “Bullwhip” Johnson and Ron “Bull” Johnson.

Johnston is an award-winning comedian, actor, emcee, and author with over 15 years of stand-up experience delivering high-energy and brutally honest comedy.

He has performed across Canada and the U.S. His credits include performances at The Comedy Store (Los Angeles), The Laugh Factory (Chicago), House of Blues, and appearances on major TV networks and comedy festivals.

Earlier this year, Johnston starred in and produced a six-part docuseries on Bell Fibe TV titled Run with the Bull, which followed his journey to improve his physical, mental, and spiritual health for the sake of his newborn son, Jett.

“Originally, I wrote a book about my father and grandfather, who were both Canadian Hall of Fame professional wrestlers,” Johnston said during a recent interview on Newstalk 1010 radio. “Their lives and deaths in show business inspired me to chase my dreams in show business. Now I’m a father myself, so that was a huge transition in my life. Unfortunately, my father passed away shortly after my 13th birthday. Now I have a son, and I have so much to live for. The idea of the show is, a 35-year-old comedian decides it’s finally time to get himself together. The show is me trying to become the best version of myself, mind, body, soul, spirit.”

Johnston will be appearing at the Loretto Restaurant Country Bar on Friday, Sept. 25.
