The South Simcoe Theatre in Cookstown is getting ready for a new season and will open with a show that is a new twist on an old story.
The theatre will present Cinderella… If the Shoe Fits on its stage in November as the first show of the season.
Written by local playwrights Debbie Collins and David Nairn, the play is a family-friendly pantomime and is a perfect start to the Christmas season.
This show is filled with toe-tapping music and opportunities for the audience to boo the evil characters while cheering on Cinderella and the other good characters. The play reveals a Cinderella who challenges expectations, outsmarts her enemies, and discovers that true happiness means just being herself.
This show is recommended for ages five and up.
Cinderella… If the Shoe Fits will run from Nov. 13 to 29, on the South Simcoe Stage.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Note that the Saturday, Nov. 21 performance will be a 2 p.m. matinee due to the Cookstown Light-up Night festivities.
