The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation received a gift of $9,500 from McDonalds in Alliston and Angus on Monday, June 5.

The proceeds came from the restaurant’s McHappy Day, held on Wednesday, May 20, 2023.

This contribution will impact Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation’s efforts to provide essential resources and continue to provide quality health care.

“We share our congratulations and gratitude to McDonald’s in Alliston and Angus for successfully raising $9,500 for SMHF through this year’s McHappy Day,” said Mary Thomas, CEO of the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF). “It’s great to witness businesses like McDonald’s collaborating with community members to make a positive impact. The success of this fundraising event demonstrates the power of community engagement and highlights the commitment to ensuring quality healthcare close to home.”

McDonald’s hosts McHappy Day every year and raises considerable funds for both Ronald McDonald House and other charities.

“We want to thank SMHF and other community volunteers for their amazing support on McHappy Day,” said Rory MacKinnon, owner and operator of MacKinnon Restaurants Inc. “With 100 per cent of the sales from all menu items being donated, it truly was an amazing day. We raised a record amount of funds not only for SMHF but for some very deserving local children and family charities.”
