The team at Stevenson Memorial Hospital is proud to be serving as a Practice Ready Ontario clinical field assessment site and is pleased to welcome Dr. Masha Samadi to its staff.
Practice Ready Ontario is the government of Ontario’s new program for internationally trained family physicians who already have clinical practice experience.
It is part of the plan to expand the healthcare workforce and connect people to care in high need rural communities.
Dr. Samadi is one of 30 internationally trained physicians participating in 12-week clinical assessments in rural communities across Ontario. In Alliston, Dr. Samadi will be directly supervised and assessed by Dr. Ihab Khalil within the Alliston Family Health Team, as well as with various physicians at the hospital in the emergency, medical and surgical departments.
“We’re thrilled to have Dr. Samadi join our team of physicians at Stevenson,” said Dr. Roger Musa, Chief of Staff, SMH. “We’re proud to have our hospital chosen as a Practice Ready Ontario clinical field assessment site and know that she will get a lot out of her experience in a busy community hospital Emergency Department that is in demand, as well as a busy primary care practice.”
Originally trained in Iran, Dr. Samadi appreciates experiencing the fast pace as well as the variety of cases that she gets to see in the emergency department at SMH.
She has enjoyed getting to know some of the hospital’s staff and physicians as well as members of the community.
