Stevenson Memorial Hospital welcomes new Chief of Staff

Stevenson Memorial Hospital has announced they have a new Chief of Staff.

Dr. Roger Musa will take over the position effective June 24.

After leaving Ontario in 2001 to pursue a career in medicine, Dr. Musa became the Medical Director at Aultman Now Urgent Walk-in Clinic in Ohio. He spent the majority of his medical career in Ohio at Aultman Hospital.

Dr. Musa and his family are relocating back to Ontario for his start at SMH.

Dr. Musa became a Hospitalist in 2008 and has advanced his career to hold positions such as Program Director, Family Medicine Residency Program, Vice Chair of the Department of Inpatient Medicine, and most recently, Executive Director of Medical Education.

“We are very excited to have Dr. Musa join the Senior Leadersihp Team at SMH, overseeing management and delivery of medical services aligning with our strategic plan, and know he will be a wonderful addition to our team and hospital,” said Norm Depta, Chair of the SMH Board of Directors.

Dr. Musa became a Diveristy, Equity and Inclusion Consultant at Aultman Hospital and has an extensive educational background. He is a member of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, Physician Delegate to the American Academy of Family Physicians and a Clinical Associate Professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University.

He has been recognized for his contributions to education and medicine, having been awarded the Medical Staff Service Award in 2023 and the Faculty Teacher of the Year Award, for three years in a row from 2010 to 2012.

Dr. Mus replaces Dr. James Lo, who became Interim Chief of Staff in April of this year.
