The Town of New Tecumseth’s Temporary Restaurant Patio Program will again be offered in 2026, providing local restaurants with the opportunity to establish or expand patio spaces for the upcoming season.
The program allows restaurants to take advantage of warmer weather while offering safe, welcoming outdoor dining areas for customers.
Applications for the program are now open, with patios permitted to be installed and operated from April 15 through to Nov. 15, upon approval.
The Temporary Restaurant Patio Program supports local businesses while enhancing vibrant, active downtowns across New Tecumseth through the patio season.
It should be noted that downtown Alliston businesses applying for the Outdoor Patio Program will be affected by the 2026 Victoria Street Resurfacing Project.
The timing and duration of any required temporary removal will be confirmed by the Town’s Contract Maintenance and Support Service Group. No work is anticipated to occur between Aug. 12 and Sept. 4.
In the event that the anticipated timeframe for the work is altered or extended, the Town will advise the owner of the extension in advance, where reasonably practicable.
If you have any questions concerning this project, contact the Public Works team at publicworks@newtecumseth.ca.
Restaurants interested in participating in the Temporary Restaurant Patio Program can review program requirements and submit an application at newtecumseth.ca/PatioProgram.
