The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority is inviting residents to come out to the Tiffin Centre and be part of a bird count.

The event will contribute to scientific bird count data.

If you would like to be a part of this event, you should be prepared by dressing for the weather, and bring binoculars and a field guide with you, if you have one.

Additional binoculars and guides will be available for use at the event.

Nature Barrie, a group of local nature enthusiasts will be on hand and explain how to watch birds and make notes of what you see.

Nature Barrie will give a presentation indoors before everyone heads out onto the trails on a guided hike to find and practice identifying the birds at Tiffin.

Hot chocolate is included with your ticket and will be served at the end of the hike. To reduce waste, please bring your own reusable mug.

The Bird Count will take place on Thursday, Jan. 2. The cost is $6 per person, and includes parking and hot chocolate. Children under three are free.

Registration is required.

You can register online by visiting the NVCA website at: www.nvca.on.ca.
