There’s another reason to smile this month as Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie week returns from September 13 to 19, supporting over 600 charities.
Funds from Smile Cookies sold at both Alliston locations this year will go to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation to support the hospital’s redevelopment.
This is the 25th year the cookies have been sold at participating Tim Hortons across the country. Individual locations may select their local charity of choice.
Since its inception, the Smile Cookie campaign has raised more than $60 million for charities, hospitals, and community programs across the country.
In 2020, the program raised a record-breaking $11 million.
“We’re thrilled to be selected as a Tim Hortons Smile Cookie charity recipient for both Alliston locations,” said Mary Thomas, Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation CEO. “100 per cent of proceeds from these special cookies will support Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s Redevelopment and I can’t think of a more delicious way to support our community hospital.”
The Foundation is currently working on their $43 million “Because of you, we can” campaign for hospital redevelopment which is crucial due to an expanding population. The campaign has reached nearly 60 per cent of its goal.
“Thank you to both Tim Hortons locations in Alliston who will be allocating the funds raised towards our much-needed Redevelopment,” said Jody Levac, President & CEO, SMH. “Our hospital needs to expand and grow as our community has, and we need the support of our community behind us to help us reach our campaign goal and the local share of the funds required for the expansion.”
You can contribute by buying a Smile Cookie at either of the Alliston Tim Horton’s locations.
