Tottenham resident Eva Bradley has been busy with her fundraising activities since she started her Toonies for New Tecumseth initiative back in February.
Eva is hoping to raise $10,000 for the Tottenham Food Bank and S.H.I.F.T in Alliston.
So far, she has successfully raised over $7,000, thanks to several fundraising events she hosted.
This includes a bake sale at the Tottenham Legion, participating in the Beeton Honey Festival, the Tottenham Street Festival and a successful garage sale held at Rex’s Playhouse in Tottenham,
The garage sale was held over two weekends in August and added $723.05 to the total amount raised.
Eva had a lot of help hosting the events, especially from her friend Chrystal Robertson.
“The Toonies for Tecumseth garage sale was a success and we raised $750.05,” Eva said. “It was held over two weekends. We held it Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 17-18) the first weekend, the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Aug. 23-25) last weekend. A special thank you goes to Chrystal, Craig, and Doug, for all their help and especially for the use of their garages – that was very helpful. We had the use of two garages.”
They allowed the use of their garages to store all the items previous to the garage sale.
“Additionally, I would like to thank all the individuals who donated items and gave cash donations, and especially Evelyn for all her help,” Eva said. “As a reminder to everyone, please continue to contribute to Toonies for Tecumseth.”
The fundraiser will continue through Nov. 17, Eva is hoping local residents will continue to contribute so she can reach the goal of $10,000.
