It’s one of the happiest weeks in Tottenham every summer when Community Week has events happening around town for seven full days.
Community Week is returning after being on hiatus for the past two years due to the pandemic, and this year there will be full line-up of fun activities.
The popular street festival will take over Queen Street with rides, exhibitions, vendors, music, and thousands of people strolling along the main street and enjoying themselves.
Also included over the course of the week will be horse drawn heritage tours, a 2k and 5km fun run, a movie night, and a historic ghost walk.
The week will cap off fireworks over the Conservation Area on Canada Day.
The event is held to encourage community spirit, encourage community partnerships, encourage local business involvement, and showcase Tottenham as a great destination to visit for both surrounding communities and tourists.
The annual event requires a lot of volunteers to step up and help out to make the week a success, and organizers are still looking for local residents to be a part of it all.
For students, this is an opportunity to acquire community service hours. For others with a great community spirit, this is a chance to get out there, volunteer, meet a lot of people and contribute to your town.
