Tottenham Lions Club hosting E-Waste collection Saturday

If you got old electronic devices that have been taking up space in your basement and closets, you have the chance to dispose of them when the Tottenham Lions Club hold E-Waste collection.
The E-Waste collection is a fundraising event for the Lions with the money raised going directly back to the community.
The last Lions E-Waste collection in the fall filled three five-ton trucks and raised over $2.000.
The E-Waste collection is held with the support of the Electronic Products Recycle Association (EPRA).
EPRA is a not-for-profit organization of manufacturers, retailers, and other stakeholders who collect and responsibly recycle end-of-life electronics. EPRA is fulfilling this role on behalf of obligated stewards in eight provinces including Ontario.
EPRA supports third party initiatives or enters into joint projects with any appropriate persons or entities withing the private or public sector such as the Tottenham Lions Club.
The Lions Club plans to host the E-Waste collections twice per year – one in the fall and again in the spring.
Electronic collections include computers, sound systems, phones, radios, power tools, television sets, small appliances, tablets, speakers, and other electronic items.
The Lions will also be collecting scrap metal. This can include bicycles, metal shelving, tools, metal toys and chairs, and sheet metal.
Please do not bring refrigerators or freezers.
Considering the present COVID-19 situation, the event will be held with protocols in place.
Please wear a mask and do not leave your vehicle. Volunteers will unload your vehicle. Volunteers will be wearing face masks, plastic face covers, and gloves, and will have had a least their first vaccine shot.
The E-Waste collection will take place on Saturday, June 12, in the parking lot at the Tottenham Home Hardware.
