The cold weather means it may take longer for your car to warm up in the morning, but it also means outdoor winter fun has arrived early this year.

The outdoor rink at the Tottenham Community Centre is now open thanks to the hard work of the team who get the facility ready for skating.

When enjoying the facility, please make sure you follow the rules so everyone can enjoy the ice.

There is a strict Public Respect and Responsibility Policy in place to ensure everyone feels safe on the ice. Individuals who do not adhere to the code of conduct will be asked to leave the facility and will not receive a refund.

Before skating, you must check in at Client Services or pay for programs.

The ice surface must not be used for coaching, instruction, training, or organized team use.

No strollers, chairs, or street shoes are permitted on the ice at any time. CSA-approved skate assists, sledges, and wheelchairs are permitted.

Children nine years of age or younger must have a parent or guardian at least 14 years of age.

Entry to the ice is granted on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is a limited number of people allowed on the ice at one time. During public skate times, a maximum of 50 participants will be permitted on the ice at any given time.

No headsets, cell phones or handheld electronic devices are to be used while skating.

Outdoor rinks may be closed without notice due to unsafe or poor weather conditions.

Two more rinks will open soon.

The outdoor rink in Beeton will be located at Beeton Community Park.

In Alliston, a rink will be created at Riverdale Park on the Doner Diamond.

Enjoy outdoor skating this year, and please follow the rules so the experience is enjoyable for everyone.
