The Tottenham Railers have announced their coaching staff for the upcoming season.

The Club has secured the services of head coach Anthony Pullicino for a second year.

Coach ‘Chino’ guided the team to the South Conference final last season before they succumbed to a dominant North York Renegades.

Chino’s passion for developing players comes from his experience in playing in the GOJHL, NOJHL, and FPHL, playing in Sweden, and with Sault College.

Assisting Anthony on the bench will be former head coach Vito Scaringi. Scaringi was the first head coach of the Railers and has agreed to come back as the defensive coach. He spent last season as an assistant with the Sioux Lookout Bombers in the SIJHL and brings a standout playing career including five seasons in the GOJHL and pro stints in Sweden, Finland, and the FPHL.

General manager Michael Prock will be combining his duties with those of assistant coach.

Michael’s background is in the GMHL with the old Thunder organization and he has also played as a pro in Finland. He has also stepped in when needed as a temporary head coach for the team when necessary.

Also returning to the bench as an assistant coach is player favourite, Ed Edskes.

‘Opa,’ as he is known among the players, brings a positive presence and is a superb mentor to the boys, especially the younger ones who find themselves a long way from home for the first time.

The players need a great trainer to keep them in top shape. Jessie Capua, who is returning for a second year, is a dedicated Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and keeps the team in top form during a long and gruelling season. It doesn’t matter if the guys need a massage or just some taping, she is there week in and week out to keep them going.

Outside of the arena, the Railers have announced their first annual Slo-Pitch Tournament to be held at Beeton Community Park on July 12.

The cost is $400 to register a team. Registration can be done through the PlaySloPitch app. The tournament is sanctioned by the SPN.

The Railers’ player roster is building and players for this coming season will be announced in the next few weeks.

The organization is also looking for volunteers to help with the upcoming season alongside some paid positions.
