The Tottenham Titans U18 (Midget) team have ended the regular season in first place in the South Simcoe Minor Baseball Association League.
The Titans were undefeated for most of the season.
They had an eight-game winning streak that put them in the top spot for the entire season.
They finally gave up an 8-1 loss to Midland on August 16. The final game of the season on August 18, had them short benched but they still went out and played with seven men against the Orillia Royals at the Tottenham diamond, but took a 7-3 loss in that final game.
At the end of the regular season, the Titans recorded 16 points to take the top spot.
The League is now in the last week of regular play with the final games being played this week before they start the playoffs.
The Titans had a consistently high scoring season this year as players got the bats moving and kept it up for the entire season.
In the South Division of the SSBA, Bradford landed in second place followed by New Lowell, and Angus.
In the North Division Ivy finished in first place with 12 points – four points behind the Titans.
Midland finished in second place followed by Orillia and Barrie.
With the short season the playoffs this year will be a tournament style post-season.
Tournament dates and locations have not yet been announced.
