Tow truck driver charged with impaired operation in Alliston

Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have arrested and charged a tow truck operator with impaired driving following a traffic complaint.

On May 9, shortly before 4 p.m., police received a report of a suspected impaired driver operating a tow truck on Victoria Street in Alliston. Within minutes, officers located the vehicle, which had stopped in a nearby parking lot. Police located and began speaking with the driver, conducting an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old of New Tecumseth, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused party was released and is scheduled for a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford to answer to the charge, had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days, and their tow truck impounded for seven days.
