The Town of New Tecumseth and the New Tecumseth Public Library have announced a collaborative initiative to develop a future-based Recreation, Culture, and Library Action Plan (RCLAP) alongside an Indoor Pool Feasibility Study.

The two projects will help guide long-term decision-making for indoor recreation, aquatics, culture, and library facilities across New Tecumseth for the next several decades.

“Recreation, library, and culture facilities are vital spaces for the community to play, learn, and connect,” said New Tecumseth Mayor Richard Norcross. “As New Tecumseth’s population grows, we want to hear from the community about how they use our facilities, services, and programs — and what options should be considered for the future.”

The Town said it is committed to engaging its residents in meaningful ways to better understand what facilities are needed and which programs and services matter most to them.

Over the coming months, residents will have several opportunities to provide input through surveys and open houses.

The Beeton Community Centre is not included in the scope of the RCLAP. However, the Town is planning to work on this project in the near future.

A separate consultation process will be held to ensure residents have a dedicated opportunity to share their input and help shape the future of the Beeton Community Centre.
