The Town of New Tecumseth is once again offering its annual Toys for Tickets program that allows people to pay for their parking tickets with a gift donation.
The program didn’t happen last year due to COVID restrictions.
“We are excited to be able to bring back our Toys for Tickets campaign for its 13th year, after having to suspend it last season due to the pandemic and precautions at the time,” said New Tecumseth Mayor Rick Milne.
If you found a parking ticket on your windshield recently, you can turn that ticket into something you would rather see and put a smile on someone’s face at the same time.
From Wednesday, December 1, to Friday, December 10, 2021, the Town of New Tecumseth is accepting toys or gift certificates/cards as payment for your parking ticket.
You can purchase a toy and bring it in its original packaging along with the receipt to the Town Administration Centre at 10 Wellington ST. E. in Alliston.
The toy or gift certificate should be of equal or greater value of the parking ticket.
Parking tickets issued between November 15, 2021, up to and including those issued on November 29, 2021, are eligible to be redeemed during the Toys for Tickets campaign.
Accessible parking space and fire route violations are not eligible to participate in the program.
