Traffic complaint in Essa leads to impaired driving charges for Brampton resident

Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged one individual with impaired driving following a traffic complaint.

Shortly after noon, on July 15, police responded to a traffic complaint near Young Street in Essa Township.

Witnesses reported that a driver appeared to be stumbling and unable to stand after exiting a vehicle in a business parking lot.

Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver. Based on police observations, officers determined the driver was impaired and placed him under arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Fasiha Khan, 38, of Brampton, was charged with: Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80-plus and Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine.

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on Aug. 8, to answer to the charges.
