Two ATVs collide head-on

At approximately 9 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 21, Nottawasaga OPP were contacted by Stevenson Hospital regarding an 11-year-old male who was brought to the emergency department with head injuries as a result of an ATV collision. Investigation reveals that the boy, along with his sister, had gone out on a trail just off the 6th Concession of Adjala-Tosorontio, with their 32-year-old uncle, of Brampton, driving the vehicle. As they crested a hill they collided with an oncoming ATV being driven by Thomas Hackett, age 42, of Alliston. The collision occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. As a result of the collision, the 11-year-old boy is being treated at a Toronto area trauma centre with serious non-life threatening injuries. Hackett has been charged with Driving While Disqualified.
