Beeton’s newest business promises to deliver some satisfying items to those with a sweet tooth.
Veronika’s Sweet Creations is now open with a line-up of gourmet-style baked goods.
Owner Veronika Dine, along with her husband Rick, opened the bakery just before Christmas at the post office plaza on Main Street.
Veronika got her start in baking by delivering custom-order cakes for weddings, baptisms, anniversary parties, and every other kind of gathering where a special cake can add to the event.
“We had a soft opening just to see how many people would come in,” Veronika explained of opening the doors during the holiday season. “My main clientele is in Vaughan for custom cakes, and this is nice location in between,” she said of the fact that she lives in Alliston and found the Beeton location to be perfect for her business.
She makes a variety of different goods from gourmet style cupcakes to custom cakes.
“I make customs cakes and things for dessert tables,” she explained. “I make them for weddings, engagements, bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, all of those events. I started making them from home, mostly for friends, then lots of people started asking for desserts so I thought I would open my own bake shop.”
Veronika actually started out in financial economics before turning to baking. Although finance is a lot different from baking, it helps with the business side of running a bakery.
“These are pretty, modern, and elegant desserts,” she said of the baked goods in her showcase. We prepare cupcakes, macaroons, chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels. We will also be making cheesecake beginning in January.”
Veronika also bakes fresh bread every morning.
For large party orders, you will have to order in advance. There is a full line-up of items on the bakery’s Instagram account.
There was a steady stream of customers on opening day, all eager to see what was available in this new bakery.
