Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) has announced it is lifting COVID-19 visitor restrictions effective May 17.
The hospital is returning to a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week policy.
“We are happy to be returning to our open visitor policy which existed pre-pandemic and prioritize family and friends as partners in patient care,” said Julia Mullen, Vice President of Clinical Services & CNE, at SMH. “We know how important family members are in a patient’s care journey and we’re so pleased to be able to enhance the experience of both patients and their families while at SMH.”
The hospital’s masking policy remains in effect for visitors at the hospital.
Visitors are asked to abide by any personal protective equipment guidelines posted for patient rooms and to demonstrate respectful behaviour towards other patients and staff.
