With the winter season approaching, residents are reminded that winter parking restrictions will take effect on town streets.
To keep roadways clear for traffic, the town conducts snow removal during the fall and winter months.
It is important that vehicles do not park on the streets during snow removal times to allow snowplows and other machines to clear the snow and keep the roads safe for travel.
Vehicles parked on the street during restricted times will be ticketed and possibly towed. If your car is towed, you are responsible for the removal costs.
The town is not liable for any damage done by street maintenance equipment to vehicles parked on town streets.
If you are parked on town streets during a prohibited time, you will receive a $35 fine that must be paid voluntarily within 10 days. After those 10 days, you are responsible for a set fine of $52.50.
Winter parking restrictions will be in effect from Nov. 15 to April 15, from 2 a.m to 7 a.m., as per the town’s Parking and Traffic By-law.
