An investigation into a suspicious fire at an Alliston home on July 22, has resulted in a 31-year-old New Tecumseth woman being charged with arson.

Nottawasaga OPP said the blaze at the home located in Victoria Street West near King Street North, broke out just before 4:00 a.m.

When fire crews arrived, the garage was fully engulfed and the fire had already spread to the residence.

Everyone inside the home escaped unharmed.

A monetary figure regarding losses is not available yet, but it is estimated to be significant as everything was destroyed.

The OPP announced on July 24, that a woman was arrested in connection to the fire and is facing a charge of arson. She is being held in custody in Bradford for a bail hearing.

A crowdfunding page has been started to assist the family. In addition, donations of men’s clothing are being requested.
