Monthly Message: Join My Sister’s Place at local events and festivals

May 28, 2026   ·   0 Comments

We are in full swing of our spring and summer calendar of events, markets and festivals. This is such a fun time of year because we get to go out into the various communities we serve, share who we are and how we serve the community, share information, meet new people, make connections, and answer questions.

We attended the Tottenham Home show in April. This show features an eclectic mix of vendors, including companies of various types, food vendors, artisans, and social services. So far in May, we have been to Murphy’s Farm Market twice: once for their Mother’s Day Market, and last Friday, when we packed tulips for guests, with $3 from each ticket sold that day coming back to My Sister’s Place (MSP). We are thankful to Murphy’s for that opportunity.

Our Trees for Shelter trees are now available by calling Dave at 705-458-9076 or by stopping by Murphy’s Farm Market or Sheldon Creek Dairy. Trees are $25 each with White Spruce, White Cedar, Red Maple and Cranberry Bushes available. The program, Plant with Purpose, will run through the Spring, Summer and Fall.

We have so many upcoming events to look forward to. This past weekend, we attended the Beeton Honey Fest on Saturday, May 23. We had a tent at the main street vendor market, giving out community awareness information and selling our Wrapped in Courage scarves, ties, and bracelets.

On Saturday, June 20, we will be in two different locations at two fun and exciting events. We will have a tent at the Krasman Pride Day, held in Alliston on Paris Street, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more info on this event, log onto www.facebook.com/events/2462256224236453/.

We will also be at Sheldon Creek Dairy’s Day on the Farm. This annual event has a vendor market, farm tours, games, food, music and plenty of fun! We will have a tent selling our trees and Wrapped in Courage items, and sharing our community awareness information. For information on the event, visit https://www.sheldoncreekdairy.ca/come-to-the-farm.

On Saturday, July 4, we will be at Tottenham Community Week Street Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tottenham Community Week is always a fun day with lots to do and see. For more information on Tottenham Community Week, visit tottenhamcommunityweek.ca.

On Saturday, July 18, we are back at Sheldon Creek for their second Day on the Farm. This would be a great day out for the family, learning about farm life. There is always so much to do and experience.

Our last festival of the summer is the Alliston Potato Fest. This festival is always an anticipated weekend for locals and those from out of town. With a parade Friday night to kick off the weekend, the street festival on Saturday and the midway throughout the weekend, there is something for everyone. We will be part of the Street Festival on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  For more information on the street festival, visit allistonbia.com/street-festival/, or for more on Potato Fest, visit www.allistonpotatofest.com.

We may add other events, so watch our social media and website for those.

We are looking forward to all these events and festivals. We hope to see you!
