The Tottenham Railers are in third place in the North Division of the Greater Metro Hockey League after a weekend win over the West Nipissing Lynx at the Tottenham Community Centre arena on Saturday, Dec. 13.
The Lynx were leading 2-1 at the end of the first period of Saturday’s home game.
Alexis Paradis scored the only Railers goal in the opening period.
Tottenham came out hard in the second period to tie it up, then take the lead in the game with three goals.
The Lynx scored a late one with less than a minute remaining on the clock.
Tottenham’s goals came from DonHeaven Veilleux, Paradis (his second of the game), and Tighe Frazee.
The Railers clinched the game with a strong effort in the third period that saw them outscore the Lynx 3-1.
The Railers’ third-period goals came from Artsiom Bialiayev for two, and Patrick Doyle, who scored on an empty net with 10 seconds left on the clock.
The final was a 7-4 win for the Railers.
The Railers now have an 18-13 record and 36 points.
The Bradford Rattlers are in first place in the division with a 22-6 record and 44 points.
They are followed by the Wasaga River Dragons with 40 points.
West Nipissing, Ville-Marie, and Meaford round out the standings.
The Railers will be back on home ice at the Tottenham Community Centre on Saturday, Dec. 20, when they will host the Wasaga Beach River Dragons.
