A Tottenham resident who said ‘yes to ENCORE,’ had a big win in the July 30 LOTTO MAX draw.
Christopher Parada Duarte won $100,000 in the draw when he matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in their exact order.
Christopher, who works in the trades, has been playing the lottery for about eight years. He is an occasional player who enjoys picking up LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49 tickets – always making sure to add ENCORE.
“I was at the gas station and figured I’d check my tickets on the OLG app, while I was still in my car. I scanned my ticket, and to my surprise, I saw the ‘Big Winner’ message. I stared at the screen for a few minutes,” Christopher laughed, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I just couldn’t believe all the zeros I was seeing! It’s safe to say I was shocked.”
Being in the right place at the right time, Christopher went into the store to have his ticket officially validated.
“Even the clerk was a bit shocked as this was his first time seeing a big winner too,” Christopher said. “He was definitely happy for me, as were my close family members when I shared the news. Winning feels amazing.”
Christopher’s plans for his windfall include investing and helping his family.
