Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have made an arrest in connection with an ongoing suspicious death investigation and continue to appeal to the public for information.
It was reported last week that officers were investigating a suspicious death in Adjala-Tosorontio. At the time, police said it was an isolated incident with no signs of a broader threat to the community.
Officers responded to a call for service at a residence on Sparrow Way in Colgan, near Tottenham, on Saturday, Nov. 15, at approximately 5:20 p.m.
A 41-year-old female was found deceased at the residence.
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, a man was arrested in connection to the incident.
Ranjit Cheema, 44, of Adjala-Tosorontio, was charged with second-degree murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.
The charge has not been proven in court.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Nottawasaga OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
