The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority has honoured Lynn Dollin by naming the boardroom in the John Hix Administrative Centre the Lynn Dollin Boardroom.

The honour recognizes Ms. Dollin’s nearly 20 years of leadership and service on the South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe Source Protection Committee.

“Lynn Dollin has devoted much of her life to public service, earning a reputation as one of Ontario’s most respected municipal leaders,” said Jonathan Scott, Chair of NVCA. “For nearly two decades, she brought that same dedication to protecting the drinking water our communities depend on. Good public service leaves a legacy that lasts well beyond any individual term of office, and Lynn has certainly demonstrated that. Naming this boardroom in her honour is a small but fitting tribute to her remarkable contribution to our region.”

In the Nottawasaga Watershed, people rely on water from streams, lakes, rivers and underground aquifers for clean drinking water. Protecting these drinking water sources takes a multi-barrier approach.

While the Province of Ontario sets the rules for protecting source water through the Clean Water Act, Source Protection Committees have developed plans to protect this invaluable resource at the watershed level.

For the past 20 years, the committee has developed Source Protection Plans to help safeguard municipal drinking water for generations to come.

The boardroom naming recognizes a legacy of leadership and collaboration that will continue to benefit communities across the South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe region.
