Just it time for some mid-summer fun, the Alliston BIA is hosting its RURBAN Open Air Market this coming Saturday, August 7, in downtown Alliston.
There will be a lot to see and do on Victoria Street as the street will be filled with activity.
In addition to the Farmer’s Market, which is open every Saturday, there will be sidewalk sales, and live entertainment on the street.
If you’re looking for something to eat, there will be outdoor patio dining at several restaurants in the downtown core.
All ABIA downtown businesses are participating in this fun weekend event so there is a huge variety of products available.
Victoria Street will be closed to traffic from Centre Street to Paris Street, along with Church St. N., to allow pedestrians a worry-free walk along the street.
Centre Street N., will remain open to allow emergency vehicles quick access to Stevenson Memorial Hospital.
The fun will get underway at 10:00 a.m. and continue until 5:00 p.m.
WALK-IN VACCINE CLINIC
An added attraction for the Open Air Market will be a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic welcoming walk-ins.
The clinic will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the fire safety trailer near the corner of Church and Victoria Streets.
“Walk-in vaccinations are available toSimcoe Muskoka residents, age 12 years and up and needing their first or second dose,” said the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. “Second doses must be 28 days after a first dose mRNA vaccine or eight weeks after a first dose of AstraZeneca with informed consent.
“Individuals are encouraged to dress for the weather as they will be outdoors while waiting and receiving their immunization. They are also reminded to bring a health card, a list of any medications they are taking, wear a loose-fitting shirt that allows easy access to the upper arm and bring any assistive devices as needed (e.g., scooter, wheelchair, cane).
