The County of Simcoe Paramedic Services has kicked off its 2021 Toy Drive to support families in need throughout Simcoe County.
In keeping with current public health guidelines, Paramedics have adapted the program and are encouraging residents to consider donating virtually.
New unwrapped toys, non-perishable food items and gift cards with the value denoted will also be accepted and can be dropped off at one of the locations listed below.
Over the past 18 years, the Toy Drive has collected 87,525 toys, 42,773 lbs. of food, and more than $200,890 in monetary and gift card donations for families across Simcoe County.
“Each year I’m amazed by the kindness and generosity of residents, Paramedics, businesses and organizations from across Simcoe County, who continue to step up in support of those in need in our communities,” said Warden George Cornell. “We have all seen first-hand the many ways that residents have struggled throughout the past 18 months. Feelings of being isolated, alone, and financially depleted have had dramatic impacts on so many. Events like the County of Simcoe Paramedic Toy Drive help to bring people together towards a common goal – to make a child smile on Christmas morning, and to restore a family’s faith in themselves.”
You can donate virtually by visiting www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/simcoe-county-paramedic-association.
Locally, you can drop off donations at paramedic service locations in Alliston, at 6933 Industrial Parkway, and in Beeton at 51 Main Street East.
