The Town of New Tecumseth has launched a new and improved Community Improvement Plan grants program.
The updated program will contribute to local economic investment and assist in the recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
There is an enhanced suite of grant funding programs for local business and property owners.
“The Town is committed to making New Tecumseth an attractive place to do business, invest, visit, and spend,” said New Tecumseth Mayor Rick Milne. “The updated CIP program provides an added incentive for business and property owners to invest in and further enhance our already outstanding community.”
The grants available through the CIP program aim to strengthen the vitality and economic viability of the Town’s three historic downtowns, support the development of affordable housing options, attracting new economic growth to meet community needs and fostering a sense of community pride.
Eligible business and property owner can now access a wide range of grants through the CIP program.
This includes grants for facade, building, and property improvement, downtown residential improvement, commercial at-grade conversion, and a public arts grant.
Other grants include privately-owned public spaces, rental development, catalytic development, and business development.
A heritage grant will also become available following the approval of the Beeton Heritage District Conservation Plan, which is anticipated to occur later this year.
Applications for the Public Art, POPS, Rental Development, Catalytic Development, and Business Development grants must be submitted to the Town no later than May 1, for consideration in the 2022 funding cycle.
Applications for all other grants will be accepted on an on-going basis throughout the year or until the program’s budget has been fully utilized.
Business and property owners interested in accessing the program are encourage to submit their applications as early as possible to maximize their opportunity to access the program.
