If you enjoy seeing large machinery up close and love to see big shovels and bulldozers at work on a construction site, there’s an upcoming event just for you.
The Simcoe County Museum and the Historical Construction Equipment Association of Canada will present Last Blast at the museum.
One of the museum’s most popular events, Last Blast brings vintage construction equipment, tractors, classic trucks, steam-powered rollers, shovels, road-building equipment, and a lot more, with demonstrations for visitors.
Simcoe Country artists will be printing large woodblock prints. The printing blocks are too large for a conventional printing press, so the museum’s wood-fired and steam-powered roller will be used to make their impression.
While you are there, you can stroll the museum grounds, find something to eat at the concession stand, or bring your own lunch and enjoy it at the covered picnic area.
Last Blast will be a chance to see the area’s antique machines in action.
The Last Blast event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Museum members and pre-schoolers are free.
The price of admission is $10 for adults, $8 for youth and seniors, or $5 for children.
The Simcoe County Museum is located at 1151 Highway 26 in Minesing.
