Municipal bills still have to be paid on time through Canada Post disruptions

Job action by Canada Post workers may impact you in terms of paying your municipal bills.

The ongoing disruption and potential strike may affect the delivery of paper bills including water utility bills, property tax bills, and invoices.

During the postal service disruption, bills from the Town will continue to be issued and payment due dates will remain unchanged.

This means you will still be required to pay your bills regardless of whether you receive one in the mail.

If you receive your bills by mail, the Town is encouraging residents to sign up for paperless billing.

If you have to pay a bill, do not send it in the mail if a strike is expected or ongoing.

There are other options to pay your bills. You can pay through your financial institution, in person at Town Hall, or take advantage of drop boxes.

The Town offers paperless billing that is convenient, eco-friendly, and allows you to more efficiently receive and retain issued notices and billings.

You can access detailed account information for your property taxes and water sewer bill through the new Virtual Town Hall service portal.

Final tax bills for residential properties are issued the first week of June, with the first installment being due the last business day in June, and the second installment being due the last business day in September.
