For many Canadians their first stop in the morning is at the local Tim Hortons for their coffee and maybe a croissant or other bakery item.
The Tottenham Tim Hortons on Queen Street is currently celebrating 30 years of serving the community.
Store owner Gerry Lawlor is a well-known face in town. He opened the Tottenham Tim Hortons in 1995, with a brand new building on what was at the time, a vacant lot.
Since the restaurant opened, Gerry has been committed to creating a place where anyone can go at any time and feel at home.
Gerry gives back to the community that supports him and the store.
Over the years, the Tottenham Tim Hortons has raised over $300,000 for charitable organizations through annual initiatives like Smile Cookie, Camp Day, and Special Olympics Donuts. This is in addition to the local support Gerry provides to the community through Timbits sports and supporting community events like Tottenham Canada Day, Family Day, and the Tottenham Festival of Lights.
The 30-year anniversary of the Tottenham Tim Hortons is a testament to the strength of the community and the relationships built along the way.
The anniversary was celebrated at the store on Wednesday, April 30, and was attended by local dignitaries and several executives from Tim Hortons headquarters.
