The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation has announced a $5,000 donation from Alectra Inc., through the AlectraCARES Community Support Program.
The donation will go toward the purchase of Laparoscopic Hysterectomy Instrumentation for Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH).
This contribution will directly contribute to enhanced patient care and will support the hospital’s ongoing commitment to excellence in healthcare and women’s health.
This instrumentation is specifically used during a laparoscopic hysterectomy procedure, which is a minimally invasive surgical method to remove the uterus. Accessibility to this specialized instrumentation enables the opportunity for minimally invasive surgical alternatives for gynecological conditions.
SMH uses these tools to offer gentler surgical options, improve patient experiences, and meet the rising demand for these kinds of procedures.
“We are proud to continue supporting the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation in their mission to provide exceptional healthcare to the Alliston community,” said Brian Bentz, President and Chief Executive Officer, of Alectra Inc. “We’re committed to making a positive impact through our AlectraCARES Community Support Program, and we’re excited to help purchase specialized equipment to enhance patient care.”
The AlectraCARES Community Support Program provides funding to charities and nonprofit organizations that support the most vulnerable in its service territory. Through the program, Alectra has become a long-time supporter of the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation, contributing over $52,000 since 2017 for various hospital initiatives, including the purchase of vital equipment, Level 2 ICU beds, a Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) pump, and now Laparoscopic Hysterectomy Instrumentation.
“This generous contribution will play a role in furthering our commitment to delivering outstanding healthcare services to our community,” said Mary Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of SMHF. “With the support of partners like Alectra Inc., we can continue to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our patients.”
