An Orangeville driver received several charges following a traffic enforcement investigation in Adjala-Tosorontio.

Shortly before 10 a.m. on July 1, Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police officers utilized their Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system while on patrol along County Road 1.

The ALPR system identified a license plate that was not authorized for the vehicle it was attached to.

As a result, a traffic stop was conducted.

Further investigation revealed several Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act violations.

As a result of the investigation, an Orangeville driver was charged with several offences, including using a licence plate not authorized for the vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, failing to surrender required insurance and vehicle documents, failing to obtain proper vehicle permits, operating an unsafe vehicle, having an insecure load and obstructing a licence plate.

None of the listed charges have been proven in court.
