The Grandmothers Embrace of South Simcoe’s annual sale of gently used jewellery, purses, and scarves is returning to Alliston next month.

The sale will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2, at St. John’s United Church in Alliston (56 Victoria St. E.) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Grandmothers Embrace is a non-profit group that supports the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

They support African grandmothers who are raising their orphaned grandchildren due to the AIDS epidemic in that continent.

The Stephen Lewis Foundation works with community-level organizations which are turning the tide of HIV and AIDS in Africa by providing care and support to women, orphaned children, grandmothers and people living with HIV and AIDS. Since 2003, Grandmothers Embrace groups around the country have partnered with more than 325 community-based organizations in the 15 African countries hardest hit by the global AIDS pandemic.

In Alliston, this year’s sale will include a silent auction, fabric squares and cards.

Proceeds from the sale will go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Please note, this is cash only sale, and all are welcome.
