Iron Oak Designed – Unique business, community space opens in Beeton

There is a unique new business in Beeton that provides a space for those that are into wood working and metal – and it has a cafe so you can have a coffee or something to eat while you are there.

Owner Natascha Knipping, a welder by trade, opened the shop on Main Street in Beeton with a grand opening on Saturday, April 3.

“The idea is we are creating this boutique community space,” Natascha explained. “We have three things – we have a wood shop, a metal shop and a cafe and boutique. There’s 3,000 square feet and it’s split up into three spaces. We have a full industrial wood shop where we are going to be doing workshops. We have beginner and intermediate shops and we have bench rentals for more experienced wood workers where they can work on their artistry.

“The other side of it is our cafe and boutique where we have an organic cafe with drinks and baked goods and some pre-packaged foods. Everything is made in Canada and certified organic. On the boutique side of things, we’re going to have a re-fillery, which means we’re going to have bulk home goods such as dish soap and laundry detergent. You can come in with any type of clean container and re-fill it and only pay for the product you’re getting. The products are all natural and all Canadian made with sustainable packaging. A lot of it is compostable or recyclable.”

Natascha teaches welding at Humber College in Toronto.

She has always enjoyed wood working and metal working and decided to turn her passion into a business.

“I’ve been in this community of creating for a long time,” Natascha explained. “I was a tiny home advocate and lived in a tiny home. I was always into wood working and metal working and I’ve always enjoyed teaching so I wanted to be able to share.”

After moving to Beeton a year and a-half ago, she liked the community so much she decided this was the perfect place to start a shop.

Iron Oak Designed is located behind the Beeton Opera House on Main Street next to the Beeton Arena.
