Jeweller brings unique designs to Artisan and Farmer’s Market

July 9, 2022   ·   0 Comments

Although she’s fairly new at making jewellery, Renee Cote has mastered her way of creating designs and putting them all together.

Renee brought her work to the Tottenham Artisan and Farmer’s Market on Sunday, July 3.

Much of her work is a detailed way of placing rings together in a design that is light, and can be worn in different ways as an accessory.

“I’ve been making jewellery for about one year,” Renee explained. “It was during COVID times, and I need something to keep me busy and keep my mind on things. That’s what I was doing on weekends. Then I got sick so I’m still on medical leave and I do this to keep my mind on things.”

She is a Bolton resident but takes her jewellery to various festivals around the province.

Renee finds inspirations for her designs from many different things.

“I’ll be watching a TV show or see something on someone, and it just clicks,” she explained. “I’ll start drawing the design, and go with it.”

Much of her work has a very complex design. Some of her pieces has as many as 7,000 interlocking rings that create the piece. It is very time-consuming work piecing it all together.

Renee uses a lot of aluminum in her “chain mail” type designs, so the final pieces are actually very light.

She also makes bracelets, and many other designs.

Renee loves to take her jewellery to various festivals and events around the province and is receiving a lot of positive response to her work based on her intricate and unique designs.
