The Simcoe County Museum once again presents “Living in the Past.”
This is a live exhibit that takes a journey through time and explores days gone by and what it was like to be part of a town or hamlet in pioneer days.
Happening every Sunday afternoon in July and August, the museum galleries and grounds will come alive with the sights, sounds, and skills of a long-gone era, when life was difficult and hard work was part of everyday life.
This exhibit provides the experience of history hands-on, with live demonstrations and interactive activities that allow you to really experience how early settlers worked and lived.
You will be able to see blacksmiths working with metal and fire to shape iron into horseshoes and tools.
You can learn the traditional crafts of rope and candle making. For a real experience, you will be able to try weaving, rug hooking, spinning, and embroidery.
The “Living in the Past” exhibit is perfect for families, history buffs, and curious minds of all ages. This immersive experience offers a fun and educational way to connect with Simcoe County’s rich heritage.
The Simcoe County Museum’s “Living in the Past” exhibit will take place every Sunday in July and August from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $6 for youth ages 12 to 20, $4 for children ages 4 to 11, and free for preschoolers and museum members.
